FoxyCart Service Internal DNS Failure Resulted in Webhooks & Custom Shipping Endpoint Issues

From 2018-07-26 22:47 (3:47pm PDT) through 2018-07-27 04:12, an internal DNS issue prevented certain functionality in the Foxy application. The impact was limited to the following:

  • Stores with custom shipping endpoints configured. Certain data in the payload (such as cart items) may not have been included.
  • Stores with a pre-payment webhook configured. Certain data in the payload (such as cart items) may not have been included.
  • Stores with the new JSON webhooks configured. These webhooks would have been sent initially with a near-empty payload, but webhooks were sent later with the full data.

We have resolved the issue, and have identified steps to improve our monitoring in this area, and are working to implement these improvements. We will be notifying impacted users shortly.
